Months ago, a Walmart employee demanded I show a receipt for my purchases. Today, a Walmart employee demanded to see my brother's receipt. The employee was rude, surly, and demanding.
The employee at Walmart is a random person; sure, he can ask to see what's in my pocket, but that doesn't mean I just have to empty my pockets for this person because he says so.
Apparently Walmart in Sauk Centre assumes its customers are thieves, and rudely, impolitely demands that customers prove they are not.
This is so true, But feel they picked out the non white people more so.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand having to shop there.
I rather travel into St Cloud were you are treated with more respect.
I have been shopping at this walmart since it opened and have had no problems with anyone checking receipts. They do check receipts for large items such as electronics.
ReplyDeleteNo problems here, have had mine checked for a computer and an LCD TV, shockingly I'm white! If it were like airport security you might have an argument. But you are afterall going into a private business and walking out with stuff...a random check is an easy way to discourage people from throwing a little extra something in the bag, or just walking out with something you didn't purchase. Look at the stats, it's astonishing how many dollars of goods are shoplifted every day...
ReplyDeleteQuite the assumption you made stating that Sauk Centre Wal-Mart views their customers as thieves. Sauk Centre has always marched to the beat of their own unique small town drum and I wouldn't look for Minnesota Nice at a corporation that is about profits. Wearing too-tight shirts during weather forecasts have been known to cause a disruption of crucial blood flow to the brain. Don't let the roid rage get ya down :)
