F--- You, Subway

So, Subway, you want to make a deal where all footlong subs are $5 or less? What does that do for vegetarians? It doesn't lower the price of subs for us at all. All this means is that meat eaters are only paying 21 cents more than I am for their meat subs. I'd rather pay the extra 21 cents and get the meat packed for my cat.

F--- you, Subway. If you're going to make a great special deal with a pretty good deal on subs, at least lower the footlongs on veggie subs to $4.

  1. You should be grateful that yours are cheap everyday.

  2. ours are nothing but toppings. they should be cheap. and 4.79 is not actually cheap for bread and toppings. what I would like to see is some kind of special veggie sub that has more than just toppings. Blimpies has a cheese trio sub, and quiznos has something special vegetarian, too. Subway should get on board.

  3. Do Subways there have the Veggie Patty? They do here. I can't vouch for it, but Rob likes it. Sort of like a veggie burger, but NOT. Less generic, I think. And more filling.

  4. If you really think it isn't worth 4.79, don't buy it.
Who knows maybe it really only costs Subway 21 cents for the 3 slices of meat since they buy in bulk?

But I am guessing if you bought all of the veggies you put on the sub, plus the bread, plus cheese, plus dressing at the grocery store, you would pay more than just going to Subway.

  5. We don't have veggie patty subs here.

I suppose I am reminded of a parable Jesus told. People came to work at different times of the day, and at the end of the day they all got paid the same. The ones who worked hardest complained, and the employer basically said "I paid what we agreed to. Don't worry about it." I suppose I shouldn't worry about it. Of course, a corporate fast food franchise isn't God, so I don't think this parable applies.

  6. We do have Veggie Patties here (Mpls). There is a Subway in the TCF Tower downtown that has the patties. They are o.k. They need to be fully toasted to be good, which is hit-or-miss when it comes to the staff's patience at the TCF Tower.

So you're a pacifist AND a vegetarian? Sheesh! If you didn't happen to also be a Vikings fan, I'd come kick you in your worthless pants.

  8. Excellent character analysis, Peter. Have fun going to war with a burger in hand - that's the American dream.

Full disclosure: I eat meat, but I don't support being a douche.

Since there is no way for you to have been aware of our positive history, I'll give the benefit of the doubt and not be upset at your comment. Please just know that it was a jest in good fun. That's all.
